تَبَارَكَ ٱلَّذِى نَزَّلَ ٱلۡفُرۡقَانَ عَلَىٰ عَبۡدِهِۦ لِيَكُونَ لِلۡعَـٰلَمِينَ نَذِيرًا

"Blessed is He Who hath revealed unto His slave the Criterion (of right and wrong), that he may be a warner to the people".

Tajweed/Understanding Surah Furqan/Family Issues/Counseling

Surah Furqan consists of 77 verses, and was revealed in Makkah. The length of this Surah allows for a short Tafseer course to be finished in 7 sessions (11 verses in each session). In its first verse, the word Furqan (the Criterion of 'Haqq and Batil') is used for the Holy Qur'an. For this reason, this Surah is called Furqan.
